I punched the co-ordinates into the computer, taking them right off the tracking application on my phone.
He was in Belgium, tens of thousands of miles away. "you're going down this time you bastard", and I smiled as I knew it was true.
Sixteen years he had chased me. I say "He" but he was really an "It". A crazy android, and it was hunting me. I had nicknamed him Sean after my crazy ex, and then started calling him Sean Bean, because no matter how many times I killed him, he always came back.
The tracker app blinked. Still in Belgium. Following the false trail I'd left him through europe. I'd miss europe after this but it didn't matter too much.
A few more buttons aaand.... the countdown started. 2 minutes and the nukes would launch. I was going to be thorough this time. Belgium, Germany, France and the surrounding countries where going to be wastelands. I knew it would fuck up the weather but I'd stocked anti-radiation pills, food and enough water to last 30 years. I was going to be fine.
50 seconds left to go. Still in Belgium. I knew it was really him as the tracker was built in to his main CPU unit so it had to be him.
30 seconds to go. I was getting nervous. Was I making the right choice? I mean, I might have enough food and water but what if after Sean is destroyed the people come back? I had never worked out where they went.
15 seconds. No. this was the right choice. Sean had to die and I was going to make it so.
I sighed. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1.
I could hear the missiles engines roaring to life and sending it out of the silo. All over the country similar missiles were launching.
A few more minutes. I felt sick.
I watched on the weather satellite as a series of huge events happened all over europe. Even if I didn't hit him directly (which I was pretty sure I had), the EM blast and high radiation should fry his CPU. Computers are far more delicate than some people think.
The flashing point on the tracking device went out. That was it. "I'm safe" I said out loud, barely believing it. I broke into a giant grin. I hadn't been able to relax in years, and it took destroying europe to get me there.
"Well, I guess I'm back to dinner for one" I said looking over at my piles of tinned food.
The intercom buzzed.
I froze.
"HANNAH. HANNAH I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE HANNAH. LET ME IN HANNAH, I LOVE YOU HANNAH COME TO ME HANNAH....."
I punched the external security cameras up. Standing outside the giant blast doors was Sean.
Except it wasn't the Sean I knew. It looked like he had ripped out his entire chest piece and replaced his CPU entirely.
"Shit"....
